Aggregating-messenger startup, Kustomer, is expected to be snapped up by Facebook (+2.88%) for a reported $1bn dollars, as the customer turns the client. 💬 Customer service guru, Kustomer, has built an admirer from the inside. Facebook uses Kustomer to aggregate all the various channels of customer comms that they currently have to ensure they have a clear picture of customer quorums. Bringing together all the abuse dished out by keyboard warriors via chatbots, Whatsapp and FB messenger... in one orderly pile of abuse. Sounds like a neat fit for Facebook? It really is... The all-in-one customer relations service is another piece in the Facebook pivot from social media comms to social ecommerce juggernaut. The 'Appy Family... Facebook is slowly bringing together its family of apps in a bid to deliver the perfect 'social commerce' solution. Facebook's development and investment into Instagram to serve as a digital shopfront for small and medium size enterprises is nipping at Shopify's heels. Meanwhile, even if Libra feels like a slow burner running out of gas, 'Facebook financial' is coming to a platform near you. The payment solution is getting the full app family roll out. 🧩 So Kustomer is a welcome piece in the puzzle. While Shopify has its own bolt on solutions to support clients logistics end-to-end, Facebook is keen to do things all their own way. In a quest for consumer market expansion, Facebook's "I see it, I want it, I got it" mantra has brought big players like Instagram and Whatsapp to the family along the years. Although Facebook will continue to be a consumer-facing power, the social media giant's acquisition of Kustomer could take it one step closer to gaining a much-desired dominant position in the businesses-facing game.
